Robbie McMullan
Mr. McMullan is principal of Chelsea Language Academy , a fast growing English school in Toronto , Canada , which he originally established in 1993 in Tokyo . He is also a highly experienced language teacher, writer and alumnus of Harvard University .
Mr. McMullan feels that Latin students add an important element to ESL classrooms in Canada that are often dominated by Asian students. He notes that “Asian students are often comparatively good at grammar and vocabulary, but Latin students are generally more fluent and interactive in class. A good teacher can facilitate the sharing of these language strengths of students from such different cultures and thereby enhance learning for all.” Further, he says, “I truly love to see Latin students in class at Chelsea ! They are so much more like me: passionate and high on life”.
